Oil near $115: feedstock and freight risks remain for carbon black buyers

Reuters reported a limited oil retreat on 27 October 2026 as diplomacy hopes competed with continuing supply concerns. Brent remained near $115 at the report’s observation point. For the carbon black chain, this is an upstream energy signal; the report does not quote industrial carbon black or black pigment selling prices.

Crude prices are not carbon black quotations

The transmission into carbon black offers depends on the producer’s feedstock, plant energy, freight, currency, inventories, grade and contract. A daily crude decline cannot establish a matching N330 or N550 price reduction. The relevant commercial figure is a current offer for the required material at the specified delivery location.

Ask suppliers to separate material price, transport and quotation validity. Confirm available stock, dispatch timing and alternative delivery options. Compare the same grade, quantity, payment basis and delivery term. A lower nominal price is less useful if its arrival date does not fit the production schedule.

Gohar Farayand offers N330 carbon black through trading and supply, while P-30 black pigment belongs to its produced pigment range. State the intended application and performance requirements when requesting an offer. Technical review and sample evaluation should accompany commercial negotiations, so a purchase decision reflects the formulation as well as market conditions.

Analysis

The practical inference is continued cost and delivery uncertainty. Staged orders and explicit quotation validity can help manage exposure. No percentage change in carbon black prices can be derived from this oil report; actual comparable supplier offers are needed.
