Cabot published its fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter results on November 2. For industrial carbon black buyers, the key contrast is clear: Reinforcement Materials volumes rose 5% year over year, while segment operating profit declined by $32 million.
The company reported $87 million in fourth-quarter EBIT for Reinforcement Materials and $379 million for the full year. Lower gross profit per tonne reflected 2026 customer agreements and a less favorable regional product mix. These are company segment results, not a spot quotation for carbon black grade N330.
Regional volume diverged: Asia Pacific gained 10%, the Americas 3%, and Europe, the Middle East and Africa declined 7%. Cabot linked part of global growth to added Indonesian capacity and its Mexican acquisition. A single global volume figure therefore conceals very different purchasing and supply conditions.
Performance Chemicals generated $60 million in quarterly EBIT, up $18 million from a year earlier, supported by product mix, costs, battery materials and specialty carbons. Total company quarterly revenue reached $1.009 billion and adjusted earnings per share were $1.61. These figures cover Cabot as a whole, rather than the price or demand of a single carbon black grade.
Tire and rubber manufacturers comparing suppliers should consider reinforcement performance, reliable supply, shipment terms and price together. Gohar Farayand offers an industrial N330 carbon black supply page for product inquiry; technical suitability requires grade documentation and application testing.
Analysis
Higher tonnage alongside lower segment profit suggests margin and contract pressure, while battery materials show the attraction of specialized carbon products. The filing does not establish a current carbon black market price or predict pricing in Iran.
