In a 27 October announcement, Birla Carbon said it would exhibit at the International Rubber Conference (IRC) 2026 in Nagoya, Japan, held 2–6 November. The portfolio addresses changing demands for tire wear, energy efficiency, durability and the use of circular carbon feedstocks.

VHS grades and the Continua portfolio
The company says its Very High Structure (VHS) carbon black grades are designed for evolving passenger, light-truck, truck and bus tire requirements, including electric-mobility applications. Its Continua Sustainable Carbonaceous Materials (SCM) and Sustainable Carbon Blacks (SCB) are presented as ways of increasing recycled or bio-based content. These are the supplier’s stated product capabilities; independently validated performance still depends on the precise compound and test conditions.
Beyond tires: technical rubber goods
Birla Carbon also describes grades for bushings, mounts and rubber extrusion. Target properties include mixing, dispersion, fatigue resistance, hysteresis and processing consistency. For compound designers, there is no universal “best” carbon black: the chosen grade must balance reinforcement, processing and functional requirements.
Gohar Farayand analysis
Gohar Farayand analysis: Competition in industrial carbon materials is shifting toward application-specific, measurable performance. Buyers should compare verified technical data and run compound trials rather than selecting material by grade label alone.
