India conductive carbon black market: specialty demand outlook to 2035

IndexBox’s October 31, 2026 update on India’s conductive carbon black market points to expanding uses in polymers, cable compounds, coatings, antistatic packaging and energy storage. Its planning scenario suggests annual demand growth of approximately 6–9% through 2035. This is a forecast, not a measurement of completed sales. The report also offers a broad indicative range of INR 250–700 per kilogram for conductive grades, with substantial variation by structure, purity and technical support. It is not a current firm quotation.

Conductive performance requires application testing

India’s large conventional carbon black industry should not be confused with the smaller conductive segment. Tire reinforcement and electrical performance impose different qualification needs. A black material that provides acceptable color or wear resistance may not deliver the required resistance in a cable compound or ESD component.

For a procurement team, the useful comparison is cost and performance in the finished formulation. Loading, polymer compatibility, dispersion and batch consistency should be assessed together. Powder measurements alone cannot establish the electrical behavior of a molded or extruded part. Trial production and a documented acceptance specification help determine whether a replacement grade is suitable.

Gohar Farayand offers P-30 black pigment for relevant color applications and trades N330 industrial carbon black. Neither should be assumed to replace a qualified conductive grade without testing. Send the application and electrical requirements for a grade review.

Analysis

The opportunity lies in consistent performance and controlled impurities. India’s forecast growth supports further market attention, while actual purchasing decisions still require a valid quotation and formulation trials.
