Paint & Coatings Italy in Milan has scheduled a session on October 28 about carbon black market dynamics and selection for inks and coatings through colloidal properties. Its official programme identifies the subject within the Inks Academy at the October 28–29 event. This report covers the announced programme, not unreported test results or commercial agreements from the session.
From black colour to performance in the formulation
At the same event, Italian distributor Carbocrom says it will showcase a range of specialty and super-conductive carbon blacks with Himadri. A conductive grade is not automatically suitable for every black coating. Surface area, structure, wetting, resin compatibility and dispersion method can affect undertone, jetness, gloss and viscosity in an ink or coating.
A practical selection process begins with the finished application: waterborne paint, solventborne paint, printing ink, a plastic part and industrial coating each impose different constraints. Compare samples at controlled dosage and mixing conditions, then test stability in the actual formulation. If electrical conductivity matters, measure it separately; black colour alone does not establish it.
The event signals attention to performance beyond pigmentation, but its programme does not state Gohar’s product prices, manufacturing capacity or qualifications. For a sample request, specify the binder, target shade and dispersion equipment so the evaluation can focus on the intended use.
Gohar Farayand presents black pigment P-30 among its manufactured products and supplies industrial N330 through trading. Share the intended application, specifications and order size for a grade and quotation review.
Analysis
The relevant differentiator is measurable performance in a defined formula. Colour strength, dispersibility, rheology and final appearance should be assessed together before treating grades as substitutes.
