Tire Review’s October 27, 2026 coverage of Michelin highlights uneven tyre demand, including weaker North American distribution shipments alongside different premium-product trends. The underlying company report was published on October 20. Yesterday’s article is a fresh assessment of those results, not a new financial release.
Separate shipments, inventory and carbon black consumption
For raw-material planning, shipments into distribution are not the same as purchases by motorists. Inventory adjustments can separate those measures. Revenue also reflects price and product mix, so a sales headline cannot be converted directly into carbon black tonnage without production and formulation information.
Follow actual customer orders, the required grade and the factory’s production horizon. Rubber components, passenger tyres and truck tyres need separate commercial assessments. Obtain the customer’s specification and acceptance test before proposing a substitute; colouring pigment and reinforcing carbon black should not be treated as interchangeable because both are black.
Gohar Farayand manufactures P-30 black pigment and supplies N330 industrial carbon black through its trading business. State the application, quantity and required specifications when requesting an offer. Product selection should follow the intended use and sample evaluation; no equivalence with the specialist grade discussed here is implied.
Analysis
The practical message is to segment demand. Customer orders and production schedules are more useful for carbon black sales planning than a single market-growth headline. This report does not state carbon black prices or Michelin’s carbon black purchase volumes.
